The Roof is Done

We finally have our new roof! We have waiting almost 5 years for this day! The visual improvement is immediate. I hope the two electric roof vents will help our $311 power bill. James Monroe did the roof and we are well pleased with this work. The attention to detail was awesome. We would recommend him to anyone! Keith has started to caulk and paint the new facial boards he and his dad installed this weekend. He is so proud and I am so proud of him. The new cover on the back porch is finished and we will find out soon if it leaks thanks to Fran. Somehow Keith can keep on going even with little to no sleep.

Allison's best friend, Carmen, had to come stay with us in the middle of the night last night. Carmen's mom was pregnant with her little sister was due in 5 days. We told them since they did not have any family in the area, that if they needed us in the middle of the night just to call. Last night we stayed up late watching the Olympics and the news that followed. Then Baylee kept snoring and passing gas! Yes, she is now sleeping in the bed with Keith and I. We finally got the kids out of our bed and Baylee moved right in. We fell asleep around 11:45 pm and the phone rang at 1:15 am. Carmen's mother's water broke and they were at the hospital. The wanted to see if they could bring Carmen to our house around 1:45 am. Once they arrived I got Carmen settled in Madison's bed since Madison was asleep on Allison's floor. We finally got back to sleep around 2:15 am. For those how know me well, know that I need my sleep. We all got off to school and work this morning with no problems. I only had to work til noon today. No, I did not get to take a nap because the roofers were on the final day of installation. That is ok! We all have to sacrifice to have what we want. Carmen has a healthy little sister and we have a great roof.

I will try to update you more later. Now I just need to go to bed.

Back to School Again

Well today began another year of school for the girls. Allison is in the fifth grade and Madison is in the first. This will be to only year that they will be at the same school. I better enjoy it while it lasts. Allison being the fifth grader that she is did not want me or Keith to walk her in to school. Thank goodness that Madison will still be seen with us. This too may be the last year for that. The girls were up early and ready to go. Madison was a little worried about going to a new school, but she got over that real quick.

Keith and his dad have been replacing the old metal roof on the back porch with a nice new wood one. The roofer is supposed to come tomorrow if the weather is permitting. Let hope so.

Baylee is doing good. She is getting over some injuries. She began swinging her back right leg a week ago due to a bacteria infection. While she was taking antibiotic, she some how landed on the foot wrong and completely broke her outer toe. She is now in a splint and a lamp shade collar. She was so embarrassed Wednesday when she got the lamp shade. She is better now and just runs into everything with it. I will be taking her back to the vet tomorrow to have her splint replaced and maybe some more x-rays.

Madison lost another took Tuesday. She pulled it by herself again. She is such a big girl. That makes two. Allison is just growing up so fast. She is turning into a young lady so fast. Yesterday a church I noticed that several of the girls 2 years older than her are developing. What a shock! I do not think we are ready for that yet.

The girls had a great summer! The enjoyed Camp Kaleidoscope. They got to spend a week in Macon with Momma Joy and Grandaddy Jim. They got to spend sometime with Pop and GranAnne at the lake and in Auburn. Grammy and Paw Paw came last week to help us out. Without grandparents it would be so hard on us. Keith and I are so grateful to have parents that want to spend time with our children. Like I told the kids, I do not have any gifts or toys that my grandparents gave me as a child, however I do have a lot of memories. That is what I would like for my children to have.

Well I need to get the children in bed! They have just gotten out of the shower.

July 4th Weekend of Fun

This was a very eventful July 4th weekend. On Thursday we all loaded up and went to the lake. Allison has been begging to ski again and we did not want to try on the 4th with all the boat traffic. Allison and Keith skied together. They both got up on the first try. Keith has not skied since we were married. They played on the water trampoline and slide and gave each other mud baths. We headed to Opelika for the fireworks that night. There we met Grammie, Paw Paw, Aunt JoJo, Katelyn, Uncle Wesley, Aunt Wendy, and Ansley. Grammie surprised everyone with some Rotel dip, chips, and powdered donuts. After all that sugar, the fireworks began. We all agreed that they were not a good as years past.
Friday we headed to the lake again. All the regular 4th of July vets were there. We enjoyed lots of BBQ chicken and ribs and tons of sides. The water was very refreshing since it was no breeze like Thursday. The wave runner was going non stop. Lots of tubing and some skiing. The water was a lot rougher and tons of boat traffic which we expected. We headed back to Auburn just in time to drive to Bruno's to see the Auburn fireworks. They were great! We did not get to meet up with Grammie and Paw Paw due to our late return from the lake.
Saturday I was able to sleep late. This was great since my allergies have been acting up since the day at the water park on Tuesday. I was able to go to Laredo's Mexican Restaurant and see Heidi, Brad, and Loxley Lyon from Arkansas. Heidi worked with us at the office while her husband went to vet school in Tuskegee. They moved back to Arkansas after his graduation almost 2 years ago. It was great to visit with them and meet Loxley for the first time. After my lunch, Grammie, Paw Paw, Aunt JoJo, Katelyn and my crew went to swim at Hollie and Craig Lee's House in Opelika. They have a great salt water pool in the country. We had a blast. We had splash contest and all! Katelyn even fell in love. That is with there dogs Darla and Daisy. Katelyn has always been deathly afraid until this. Aunt Helen and Uncle Bruce even came over and visited. We did not leave until 8:30. These late nights are weighing on me.
Sunday we tried to keep the water out of our plans. Today was Allison's 10th birthday. I can not believe that we have already reached the double digits. We went to church early and let Allison pick the restaurant for lunch. The options were: Shogun, CiCi's Pizza, Shakey's Pizza, and Waffle House. For the 3rd time in a row she chose Waffle House. It was good though. We did not have a party or anything today for her birthday. On Wednesday the girls and I went to Tigertown and got Allison $140.00 worth of outfits.(You do know that fifth graders dress better than fourth graders, don't you?) I was not feeling great this afternoon so I took some medicine and laid down praying the my allergies would subside. Grammie, Paw Paw, Wesley and Wendy came over later to give Allison her presents. She got an Old Navy gift card from Wesley and Wendy. Grammie and Paw Paw gave her the beach trip, clothes, and a friendship bracelet kit. Aunt JoJo and Katelyn gave her a virtual hamster for her Nintendo on Saturday. I would not approve of a real hamster so JoJo compromised. After everyone left I headed to the store for some more allergy meds. I am feeling better now. Thank God! After some homemade play dough and supper the girls are in bed. We have to get back to our routine next week. They have Camp Kaleidoscope the next 3 weeks and I have to return to work after a week off.

A Day at the Lake

Last weekend we went to the lake. The girls had a blast. They made some friends with the neighbors grandchildren. The day was spent tubing, playing on the water trampoline, riding the wave runner, and swimming. Baylee came with us and loved the water. She is swimming everywhere. We had pizza for lunch and wonderful grilled BBQ chicken for supper.

The girls are finally old enough to really enjoy the lake. Now with Allison skiing it is about be even more fun!

DARE Camp Draws To A Close

Well another DARE Camp completed. Keith and the girls had a great time along with the other 145 6th graders. The days were long and hot. Everyone came home exhausted.

Yesterday was Katelyn's 3rd birthday. I can't believe that she is already 3. They grow up so fast! Today is her party at Hollywood Connection in Columbus. The girls are so excited. I have taken off all of next week to keep the girls. They do not have camp. I may take them to Surfside Water Park on Tuesday depending on the weather. We will be spending a lot of time this week at the pool and the lake. The girls are so brown. Madison hair is turning blonde.

Allison Learns to Ski

This afternoon Allison learned to ski. Pop knew 2 guys, Russell and Brooks Glass, that taught people how to ski at Calloway Gardens and arranged for them to teach her to ski. Today Pop picked her up early from DARE Camp and headed to Lake Harding. Within 15 minutes Allison was up! After a couple of times she was able to get up all by herself. She came home so excited! Pop was able to snap some pictures from the dock. Sorry some are fuzzy, Pop was not used to Allison's camera. If you look closely to the last picture she is waving. WOW! We look forward to Allison skiing more at the lake and maybe Madison will pick it up a lot sooner with Allison already doing it.

Allison and Madison are going to Camp Kaleidoscope Day Camp. They are enjoying it so much. On Friday they had a field trip to Montgomery. In the morning they went to the planetarium and that afternoon they went to the Montgomery Zoo. The girls thought that the planetarium would be a bore, but they were sure surprised. They loved it. The zoo was awesome too! I sent my extra digital camera with them to take some pictures. I know that they love taking pictures as much as me. These are some pictures from that trip.

This week the Keith has his DARE Camp. They girls are going with him. They all came home tired and irritable. I am hoping to put them all to bed early.

Tonight we went to Summer Swing in Opelika. Our church worship band was playing. We were worried that the rain might cancel the show but prayer works. It was great! The band sounded awesome. Allison, Madison, Keith, and I had a good time. We got to see several of our friends. We even saw Dr. Smith, the doctor that delivered Allison and Madison. After the band finished up, we went to Pop's house to see him for his Birthday. Then off to the house for showers and bed. This was a great day! Here is a little bit of video to show you what you missed if you were not there.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all! We had a great weekend celebration. Saturday we went to the lake to see Pop. It rained a little but as you can see we still had fun.

This morning we went to church since we missed the last 2 Sundays because we were at the beach. We all missed the music and sermon and were glad to be back. After church Madison and I went home and got the car packed for Keith's Fathers Day Surprise! We packed a picnic lunch, the cooler, and Baylee (of course she had to come it's her dad too!) Went to get Keith and Allison from church (Keith had to do drama at the second service). Keith did not know anything about the plans for the day. Wow was he surprised at the plans of the day. A day at Chewacla Park.

First we had our picnic lunch which consisted of peanut butter and honey sandwiches and chips. The lunch of hikers. Then we headed to the trail. After a short hike we arrived at the waterfall. What a beautiful site. We make our way down the trail to the bottom of the waterfall. At the bottom we let the kids and Baylee play in the clear, cold water. Madison loved it. Allison and Baylee took a little time to like it.

After a little while we ran into several people we knew from church. They had three dogs. That did make things a little hairy. Baylee loves people, but is a little aggressive with other dogs. However she did mind her manners. Before long there were more dogs and people and Keith just wanted to get out of there. The stress was mounting. After a long, hot, and tiring trek to the top of the trail head we loaded everyone up and headed home. Baylee went sound to sleep in the back of the Explorer.

All and all I think Keith had a great Father's Day. We just wanted him to know that we do love and appreciate him along with all our fathers. We did get to speak with Paw Paw and Pop today, but we have not been able to get Granddaddy Jim. I guess he has been celebrating with his kids today. We will keep trying him tonight.

Mexico Beach Trip 2008

I thought I would post some pictures from our trip to Mexico Beach. We just returned home yesterday. We enjoyed the time off and the memories. Allison, Madison, Ansley, and Katelyn all loved it! Allison and Madison loved the waves and the dolphin handshakes at Gulf World. Ansley and Katelyn did not want to get out of the water except to eat. The weather was great all week. We did have some seaweed in the middle of the week, however it cleared up by Saturday. The waves were big and strong, but still manageable.

The house was owned by the artist Paul Brent of Panama City. The artwork and layout was superb. We are planning on renting it again next year.

I will try to write more soon, now I must get caught up on house stuff. It is amazing how things need doing even when you are gone a week.

A Day of Pampering

Today was great! Grammie and I spent the entire day together by ourselves. We went first to Carmack's to get the meat we needed for the upcoming beach trip. Then we had to stop by the Thrift Store to see if they had any deals. After that we headed to Sam's to test some of the samples (it was getting lunch time by this point) and pick up some more snacks for the beach trip. After not getting full on the samples we headed to Chick-fil-a. Next we went shopping for swim suits. We both found 2 a piece. (Grammie you were right, Keith loves the leopard print one!) I also got a new white shirt for the "beach picture". Finally Grammie and I went to get our pedicures and manicures for Mother's Day! We even got our eyebrows done. This is something that I would not normally spoil myself with but Keith and the girls gave it to me for Mother's Day. We got Grammie a pedicure and manicure for her Mother's Day. It was great to get to spend some one on one time with Mom. Most of the time we get to spend together includes chasing the girls. This time it was about us. We all need this from time to time.

Madison, Allison, and Keith went to the pool while we were gone. They were all tired when we got home. After Grammie left, Madison was in the room when I was folding up some laundry (yes back to real life) and she told me that she missed me today and she wanted me to spend tomorrow with her. She is so sweet!

Believe it or not, school it out! Yesterday I took a kindergartner and a fourth grader to school, but I picked up a first and fifth grader! It seems like time is just speeding up. Yesterday Allison reminded me that she will be able to drive by herself in 6 years and 1 month. What a shock to my system. Madison got all E's (excellent) on her report card and Allison got all A's and B's. The best thing is that she had all 3's (the best) on conduct. We have been struggling with Allison this last nine weeks, but it seems to have paid off. I am so proud of both of them.

I better get to bed, we have to be at church tomorrow at 8 AM to greet people. Love to all!

Summer is on the Way

Well, summer is finally on the way. The girls have just 5 more days of school and they can not contain themselves. We have signed both the girls up for Camp Kaleidoscope with the Auburn Parks and Rec. They will be going for 5 weeks. Pop and Gran Anne have agreed to keep the girls for us the first week school is out. They do not have camp until we get back from our beach trip. Paw Paw and Grammie have agreed to watch the girls the two weeks prior to school starting. We are so lucky to have help. Momma Joy and Grandaddy Jim would help if they were closer. We just have a hard time sending them away for a week at a time.

Momma Joy and Grandaddy Jim have been through an ordeal the last week. A tornado hit Macon Mother's Day morning and their neighborhood is in rumbles. They did not have power for 5 days and they did have some roof and auto damage. I thank God that Keith and I were scheduled to work at church on Mother's Day or we would have been in Macon during all of this. We are just glad that they are all safe.

Allison had a softball game this morning. They won 15 to 3! Allison had a great hit. She has been in somewhat of a hitting slum the last couple of games, however we think this is over. Madison loves going to the games to play with Taylor! We only have 2 more games! Her team is in a tie for 2nd place out of 5 teams. We all seem to enjoy the experience even if we do complain about it from time to time.

We are counting down the beach trip! 15 days to go! We are staying at a new house this year. Grammie and Paw Paw went to see it about 2 months ago. Each family will still have their own room, however, Keith and I will get a room separate from Allison and Madison. The house has 3 stories and is on the beach. We are still worried about how cold the water will be this year. We normally go at the end of July! I do not care! Just to be off work for 1 week with no worries is good enough for me.

Baylee is growing like a weed. She weighs 29 lbs. She scared us last week. She decided to swallow one of Madison's no show socks. We called Pop asap. He told us to give her some fiber capsules and hope it "passes". After 2 days of solid worry, Keith and the girls took her to the vet to be x-rayed. No sock was seen and we were told just to wait and call if she started vomiting. On Monday at Allison's softball game I spoke with Pop and Dr. Pete and they believed that it was still in her stomach. On Tuesday when I got off work, I gave Baylee some hydrogen peroxide to make her vomit. After about 2 minutes, the sock came up! I can not believe that it stayed in her stomach for 5 days! She is all better now, however the girls are not wearing socks now.

Well I better go. Keith and I have to work at church tomorrow and the girls have to get in the bed soon. We are planning to take them to Holly and Craig's house tomorrow after church to swim.

Been A Little Busy

Well, we have been a little bit busy here at the Horne house. Allison has softball 3 - 4 times a week. Some nights we do not get home until 8:30. Their team has been doing well. We have won just a many as we have lost. Grammy and Paw Paw surprised us at the game tonight. We all went to eat at Chappy's after the game. The girls only have 17 more days of school left. Time has flown by!

Last Thursday, Madison's yellow pod had "Market". Her pod (group of 5 classrooms) is learning about Auburn, Alabama. Each classroom was a different store in downtown Auburn. Madison's class was J & M Bookstore. They made Auburn coasters, Auburn T-shirts, Auburn door mats, Auburn Jewelry Kits, and Auburn Tiger Tails. They had two shifts in the class, selling and buying. For the last 2 months they earned pennies for getting caught doing good things. Each Friday they went to "Auburn Bank" to deposit their money earned. Madison earned 102 pennies! The other classrooms were Heartstrings, Toomer's Drugstore, Ware Jewelry, and one more I can remember. It was so cute. Keith was not able to come so my office manger, Dianne, came with me.

Saturday the girls and I went to Cityfest in Auburn. We had a great time. It was hot! We got to spend a little time with Keith at the DARE booth.

Tomorrow Allison's class will be going to Montgomery to see the state capitol building. I am worried about them going so far, but I am sure that they will have fun.

We only have 30 days until we go to the beach with my family. We can not wait. We are so use to going the end of July that I is hard to get in the mood. The Gulf temperature today was 79 degrees. I hope that it warms up quick. Allison has a softball game Saturday morning at 9:30 and after that we may take a ride with Baylee up to the lake. We have not been there in a long while. I sure hope that Baylee loves the water!

Let's Go Padres

This is Allison's second year to play fast pitch softball. They have had 3 games so far this year and they have not had a win yet. Allison is competitive just like her dad and it is killing both of them. Some of the girls just don't care about winning and Allison gets so frustrated. This is the first year that they let the girls pitch, therefore it is a lot slower paced game. We only make it 3 innings in the allotted time. I have emailed the schedule to several of you so if you want to come be stressed with us, Come On! Catey that lived next door to us for a long time is on Allison's team. Madison is glad of that! She and Taylor (Catey's little sister) play during the games and practices. Keith is not coaching this year, but he plans on head coaching next year if Allison is still intrested in playing. Allison is very athletic and enjoys the game. We are all a bit tired this week. Allison justed finished her SAT's and we have also had softball for at least 2 hours every night this week. We are looking forward to the rest of the week when we can just relax.

Just Hanging In There

Sorry that it has been so long since I posted. We have just been trying to keep our head above water. We have had so much going on in the past month.

Allison has started fast pitch softball. She played machine pitch last year and loved it. Her team is the Padres and she has the same coach Ms. Brandy. Madison is growing like a weed. She is mostly legs! I guess she takes after Keith. She was going to play T-ball until she found out she had to play with mostly boys. She decided that she would just cheer for Allison and play with Taylor during Allison and Catey's game. Allison's games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays with practice on Tuesdays. We even have some Saturday games. Keith has decided not to coach this year and just be a sideline dad.

Keith has been busy as well. Friday he finished his D.A.R.E. Graduation with the city schools. I know that his is glad. He still has Lee Scott to finish. He has also had a ton of training classes to do. One was from 1 pm to 9 pm.

Baylee is also busy all the time. She is growing sooooo fast. She went to check another puppy check up and weighed 10 lbs. That means she almost doubled her weight in 4 weeks. She like Madison is all legs. We have decided not to get her ears done. We just don't see the need when it is just for looks. She has fit in our family just fine. The only time we struggle with is the mornings when we are rushed anyway. Her house training is going great! No accidents in at least a week. Now that the weather is warmer we have had her outside a lot.

I have been just trying to keep up with everyone else. Allison has had a lot of homework and test this past week since they got out for Spring Break. She had tests 4 of the 5 days this week. Ask either of us about Alabama and the Civil War and we can tell you. Madison has been reading like a champ. Work has slowed down a little bit for me, thank goodness.

The girls will be going camping with Grammie and PawPaw (my parents) over Spring Break. They will be taking the camper to White Oak just down from Eufaula. They have planned some bike rides, hiking, fishing, and exploring. They are hoping for other children to play with. We are so thankful that we have parents that are involved in our children's lives.

Keith and Allison went to the grocery store and Madison and I are here. She is playing with Baylee. Keith and I are still on our healthy eating! (I don't want to think of it as a diet.) Keith started prior to October and went from 223 lbs to 173 lbs. He does not want to lose any more. Yesterday I bought him some new American Eagle jeans and he needed at 31 waist. I have lost 16 lbs in almost a month. I feel better now than I have in a long time. We are working out as a family and walking as a family. We will be ready for the beach this year!

Well, Keith and Allison just got back. I better get back to laundry. We love you all!

Family Fun Night

Well Madison is feeling better today. She ran a fever this morning but not since. She took about a two hour nap today and got a good shower and was as good as new.

We had tickets to go to the Auburn University Gymnastics Meet against Illinois tonight. This was our first time to go and we loved it! Keith even enjoyed the meet. We met with others from our church for a family fun night. We ate at Chick-fil-a and then went to the meet. We will have to do that again. The girls were great! I just wish I had their figures. It has made Allison and Madison want to take gymnastics. We told them we have to make it thru softball season first!

Oh, by the way Allison's softball coach will be Ms. Brandy again this year. We are so excited. Madison was going to play T-ball until she found out that she had to be on a team with boys. She decided she would just cheer for Allison and watch Baylee during her games.

The Flu Has Come To The Horne House

Well, I guess that it as inevitable. We all got our flu shots, however this year they we about 40% effective. Madison was the so called lucky one. Yesterday morning she woke up asking for water. She said that her throat was itchy, otherwise she felt fine. I gave her some allergy medicine and Tylenol and sent her to school. I assumed it was just nasal drainage. At 3:40 her after school teacher called me and said that Madison just wanted to let me know that her head hurt and her throat was still itchy. I called Keith and he went ahead and picked her up early and brought her to the office to see Dr. Stubblefield. To our surprise she had a 102.2 fever. Her strep test was negative and the flu test was positive. She has flu A. Our hearts just melted when she began to cry because she would miss her downtown Auburn field trip today and Read Across America Day on Friday. She has been looking so forward to both. On Friday they were getting to wear their pajamas to school. I told her that the next day she got to go to school I would let her wear her pajamas. I spoke with her teacher, Mrs. Griffies, last night to warn her that it was in her class now. She was so sweet! She told me she would take Madison on her own personal field trip one weekend when she was better. I also warned her about the pajama. She just laughed and agreed. Madison wanted to speak with her but all she could do was whimper. It was heart breaking. She had a good night except when her fever went up. Thank goodness the Tylenol and Motrin are keeping it down. We are hoping that since she has had the flu shot every year of her life that it will not get so severe. She is such a trooper! I have been spraying Lysol everywhere trying to keep Allison from getting it. I can handle Keith or myself but just not the kids.

I will keep everyone updated. Please say a little prayer that this will run its course quick and that it will leave our house with no one else affected.

This is a picture of Madison making cupcakes for her class today. Mrs. Griffies lets the birthday girl or boy make the cupcakes to celebrate their special day. She has been looking forward to this since the start of school. Does she look proud or what? Tonight we will be going out to eat to celebrate. I bet it will either be Laredo's, Waffle House, or Chick-fil-a. She loved her Nintendo Dogs game. It even has a boxer puppy just like Baylee. Allison gave her some school workbooks. This weekend we will get together with the family for a small birthday party for her and Uncle Wesley.

Our Baby Girl Is Not A Baby

Well today is the last day that Madison will be 5 years old. It seems like yesterday I was feeling her moving in my stomach. She is such a sweet and caring child. She will do anything to make someone happy even if it means she will do without. I guess she got out all the bad stuff with all that colic and crying as a baby. She is nothing but a sweetheart. She is so proud that she is learning to read. We have been reading "Bob" begining book and she smiles from ear to ear when she reads the entire book. She does not forget anything and is constantly soaking it all in. She is Baylee's best friend. When I got up this morning at 5:45 she and Baylee were laying on the floor in the great room, curled up in and blanket watching cartoons. I should have taken a picture, but I am not a morning person. Keith said that he got up with Baylee at 5:00 to go out and when he came in Madison was standing there waiting for her. I think they will be big buddies.

Well, I guess that I better go! We have a big day tomorrow. Madison will get to make cupcakes with her teacher for her birthday. On Friday, they are taking a field trip to downtown Auburn to see all the landmarks and eat lunch on Samford Hall lawn. After that they get to roll Toomer's Corner. She class is studing Auburn and Auburn University.

Allison's After School Program

Friday Allison had her After School Program. R. O. C. K. Rock Radio was the title. It featured several songs from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. Allison was Peggy Sue. She had a speaking line and sang "My Boyfriends Back" with several of her friends. She did so good! Both of our girls are such preformers. After the play we went with my family to Good Ol' Boys for supper.

Baylee has be doing great. We took her to Petco yesterday. I don't know if she enjoyed it or not. She slept right thru it. We have only had one accident since Thursday. She is sleeping through the night and waking up with a clean crate. Madison is great with her. She spend all her free time with her and does not freak out when she uses her hand for a teething toy. Allison is still a little unsure. Allison is such a busy body that most things don't keep her attention for long. I guess that is the difference in our children.

Madison is so excited about her upcoming birthday! I can not believe that our baby is amost 6 years old. We are not going to have a "party" this year. We will probably have some of the neighborhood kids over for cupcakes or something. She is fine with that. The only thing she wants for her birthday is a boy Barbie. She told us that her Barbie's would like to get married and there is no one to marry them to. She is also in to Polly Pockets and Littleist Pet Shop.

We were able to bring home Baylee today to suprise the girls for Valentine's Day! They were so excited! She so cute. We had her in the backyard running and playing with the girls. We can not wait until this weekend when we can love and play with her all day.

Allison's afterschool program is tomorrow at 1 pm and 5 pm. The Fabulous Fifties. I will try to get some good video and pictures for everyone to see! We are hoping that Momma Joy and Grandaddy Jim will be able to come. We gotta go love on Baylee! See ya later.

Tonight is Daddy Daughter Date Nite in Auburn! The girl's were so excited. We had to get all beautiful for Daddy. We had to do hair, nails, pantyhose, and of course dresses! I really do enjoy having daughter to dress up and just have some girl time. As all of you know it is not often that our girls get all dolled up. We just enjoy it when it happens. They left the house just a little while ago and I am just enjoying the peace and quiet. I am sure that they are having fun. They are looking forward to seeing Ansley and Wesley there. A Baby on the Way!

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are expecting a new baby in our family. We have decieded to adopt this time around. She was born on Sunday, January 6th of this year and she is adorable! We have decided to call her Baylee. Baylee the Boxer! Of course it is a dog! Did you think we lost our minds. We have enough children, homework, and laundry!

We should be able to pick her up around the 14th or 17th of this month. Keith has been busy fixing the backyard up and puppy proofing it. I have attached some pictures of her for everyone to see.

Well the snow only lasted for about 45 minutes. We thought it would start back, since the weather channel forecasted it to end around 4 o'clock. It never did. I just walked outside and all the snow has melted. It really does not feel very cold. I guess that just reminds us to live in the moment. You never know when it will end. We just stayed at home today, kept warm by the fire, and did some laundry. The girls have been dressing up and doing some more performances. We had a great dinner, homemade beef stew.

It just started snowing in Auburn at 11 o'clock . We are all so excited! Just wanted to put up some pictures now and we will post some later. The Montgomery 10 o'clock news said that Auburn could get between 3-6 inches today. I think we all woke up this morning expecting a blanket of snow. To our disappointment there was just rain. We have been looking outside all morning waiting for signs of snow. It has finally come! It is funny to me to see how adults turn back into children when snow arrives. We have a warm, crackling fire and beautiful, white snow outside. What more could we ask for. I am just glad that one of Madison's wishes did come true today. This is Madison's first time to see snow.

In case you have not heard there is a 7 year old little girl in Auburn named Carly Parker that is battling cancer. The family is very good friends with Dr. Stubblefield in our office. She found out around Thanksgiving that she had cancer in her sinus cavity. About the size of a lemon in that little child's head! The family has been traveling back and forth to Children's Hospital in Birmingham for chemo. Carly had a CT scan on Saturday to see if the tumor was responding to the chemo. The results showed that the tumor has actually grown 20 - 30%. The only answer is surgery and radiation therapy. This is a young family with another 2 year old daughter. Our Little Girl is Growing Up

I hope that you all are sitting down for this one. Thursday night Allison asked me if she could talk to me about the Ten Commandments. Mostly the 7th one that states that you should not have unpure thoughts and that sex should be saved for marriage. She said that Daddy would just blush and run away if she asked him. She wanted to know what unpure thoughts were. I explained it as simple as I could. The next thing she wanted to know is if Keith and I have ever has sex. After I picked myself up off the floor, I explained to her that we have and that is the reason we have 2 children. She then realized that children come from God and sex. She stated that we must not have sex anymore since we do not want anymore children. I just smiled and agreed! She thanked me for the talk and went to bed.

I guess after some thinking on the subject, Allison realized that she really did not know what sex really was. Last night she came to me while washing dishes and wanted see if we could talk again later. I mentioned this to Keith while folding clothes and he went and talked to her. She was a little grossed out by the whole thing. He used as little description to make it easy for her to understand and explained to her that it was not a gross thing. It is a gift from God for a husband and wife to share.

We just never thought that this would come so soon. I guess with T.V. and friends with older siblings we should have known. We were talking with other parents in our church bible study and were shocked to hear that another family had to have that same talk with their 9 yr old daughter. We have always tried to be open and honest with both the girls. We hope that this parenting style will allow for a very open and honest relationship when we get to the teenage years.

I am sure that her little mind will come up with some more questions in the future. Please pray for us! :)

REPORT CARD TIME

Well it is report card time again. Allison got her report card yesterday and Madison got her report card today. Both of them did awesome.

Allison got all A's with the exception of a B+ in Social Studies. All of her conduct grades were great too! Her teacher commented that she is a very smart and that it was a pleasure to have her in her class.

Madison got E's and M's (Excelled and Mastered). She has already mastered everything needed to pass to First Grade! She also got a sweet comment from her teacher. Mrs. Griffie's said that she is a very caring and compassionate child.

Keith and I are so proud of both of our girls! They both enjoy learning and school. This year has been great this year! The behavior has made a great improvement over last year. That just shows that discipline and prayer do work!

Well we may not be the Dean Road Spelling Bee Champion, but Allison is the Spelling Bee winner in our family. We are still not sure how she became such a great speller, neither Keith nor myself can manage with out spell check. Allison did great! I think that I was more nervous than she was. I believe that she will always remember how to spell "Toucan" after today.

We are so proud of her! Allison is smart, talented, and beautiful. We must have done something right. We are so proud of both of our children. God has bless us!

We have been very busy! The girls went to Macon Tuesday, New Years Day, to spend sometime with Momma Joy and Granddaddy Jim. Keith and I decided to take advantage of the time alone. We spent some quality time together ripping out our old kitchen floor and replacing it with a new one. We have wanted to do this ever since we purchased this house 4 years ago. We have pondered ceramic tile and wood laminate, however ever when we went to Jay and Kim's house during our Christmas trip to Macon we decided on this pattern of vinyl self adhesive Armstrong tile. Thanks Jay and Kim for the great idea. Once we dropped off the children with Momma Joy and Granddaddy Jim we went and got all the tiles we needed and headed home to begin the destruction. We had almost all the tile done by 11:30 that night with the exception of a few hard to cut tiles, which I had messed up several times. I knew that Keith had to work the next day and I could not think enough to cut them correctly. The next day when Keith was at work, I went back to Lowe's and bought the quarter round and headed home to cut the pieces. Later that night Wesley, Wendy, and Ansley came over and let us use their cordless nail gun. (We need one of those!) It only took us 5 minutes to attach all the quarter round. Wesley was also nice enough to help Keith move the furniture back in. (Every bone and muscle in my body was hurting.) I had to wash and put all the china back in the china cabinet before Madison got home and realized I had used her bed to hold it during the construction. The floor looks great! Keith and I love it!!!!!!!! I guess that we will be working on the house all year since that is what we did on New Years Day. That's fine with us.

The girls got back this morning from Macon and had a great time. They went to Chuck E. Cheese, the movies, restaurants, and shopping. I am sure that Grandaddy Jim and Momma Joy are both missing them tonight, but they will be able to sleep late tomorrow. We are so thankful to have great families to help us with the children. Also the children will have memories when those people are gone.

Christmas is Over

Well Christmas is over. Why does it seem to take forever to get here and yet it does not last that long? We had a wonderful Christmas.

On Friday the 22nd we went to Macon to see Momma Joy and Granddaddy Jim. The girls got to open there gift as soon as we got there. Madison got a littlest pet shop toy which she loved. Allison got a cell phone! The look on her face was priceless! She was so excited she almost cried. Momma Joy and Granddaddy Jim did good! We got to see Jay, Kim, and Erica on Saturday and Sunday too! When we got home Sunday we had no heat. Somehow the furnace tripped off and had to be reset. What a hassle.

I had to work on Monday, Christmas Eve, until noon and then we went to Wesley and Wendy's house for Christmas with the Wells side. Grammie, PawPaw, Joel, Katelyn, Wesley, Wendy, Ansley, Aunt Sherry, Uncle Jimmy, Marc, Jodi, Andrew, and Lucas were all there. We had a house full. We ate a wonderful dinner and watched to kids open presents. There was paper and presents everywhere.

Later that night we had to go to Christmas Eve services at our church, Cornerstone United Methodist Church. After church we stopped by Tyler's house so that he could meet and spend a little time with Allison. We got home about 8:00. Just in time to get the cookies, milk, and reindeer food out before Santa arrived. Allison was the first to be out. Madison took a bit longer. Keith and I were soon to follow. Allison got up around 1:30 am to find that Santa had indeed stopped by, however, he wrapped all the presents! She thankfully decided to climb in the bed with us and wait until 8am.

The girls were overwhelmed. We all enjoyed to presents being wrapped. Everyone was able to see exactly what they got and appreciate it.
I was informed that Santa has a better sense of style when it comes to rock star clothes. Allison says that is because he has girl elves. Santa brought everything from games to there Nintendo, clothes, Moon sand, school supplies to luggage. Keith and the girls were good to me. I got a robe, blanket, slippers, bath and body work stress relief lotion and body wash, a silver cross necklace, and a gold leaf nativity cross. Keith got 4 pair of pants, since he has lost so much weight his other will not stay up, an MP3 player, an electric razor, and 10 pair of boxers.

We were able to stay around the house and enjoy the gifts from Santa and a nap, before we had to go to Pop and Grananne's house. We had a great time. We got to see Natalie and Griffin. Madison and Griffin I think bonded! Madison just loved talking to him. We had a great dinner and got to open gifts. The girls just loved their Northface jackets and fur lined crocs. By about 8:30 we were all about asleep. I had to work the next day so bed it was. Lucky for us Keith was able to take off until Jan. 1st. We will have to take the girls to Macon that day for a visit with Mommy Joy and Granddaddy Jim. Thanks to them for helping us out until school starts back on the 7th.

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, with visions of Santa dancing in their head.

Keith and I had just settled down when we heard a noise. We sprain to our feet to see what was the matter. What to our wonderful eyes did appear, but a beautiful tree full of present for Alli and Madi.

Christmas is a wonderful time of year! We have Santa Claus, presents, family and food. However we will always make sure that our children know the real meaning of Christmas, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior! Happy Birthday Jesus! Thank You for all that You have given us!

Allison's Christmas Program

Allison had her Christmas program, Snow Biz, on Wednesday. She did so good. Allison is such a performer and loves to sing. After the program her class had there Christmas party and she went home with her "boy" friend, Tyler.

Thursday Keith had the girls all by himself. When I got home the house was clean, laundry folded, and several presents under the tree for me! What a shock! Keith has done his shopping prior to Christmas Eve. Today they came by our office in Pop's convertible Mustang. I looked out the window of the office and there are my two girls propped up on the back seat with the top down. Thank God I work at a doctor's office. We might need them soon.

We are leaving tonight to go to Macon to have Christmas with Keith's mom and step dad. We always enjoy the time with spend with them.

Madison's Christmas Program

Today was Madison's Christmas program at AEEC. They were so cute! They did a parachute act, a stick tapping act, and sang some holiday songs. They celebrated Christmas, Hanuka, and Kwanzaa. Thanks to those that were able to make it and for those who could not, please know that you were in our thoughts.

Madison was so happy to see that her intern teacher, Ms. Godwin, came to see the program. She finished her internship the beginning of this month and all the children were sad to see her go. She was attacked by the kids when they saw her. Madison gets so attached to her teachers.

Allison's class program is scheduled for Tuesday morning. I will post some more pictures then. Keith and I are headed to my office party tonight and Grammie and Paw Paw will be keeping the kids for us.

I just wanted to update everyone on our family. We are done with the shopping and wrapping! :) This is the first year that we have finished so early. We do still have to shop for our two families we are helping with our church group.

We have a very busy two weeks coming up. This weekend we have a Christmas party on Friday, free present wrapping at Tigertown and shopping for our families on Saturday, and on Sunday we have church that morning, community group that night and a concert at the church that night. Christmas is a very busy season, however, we always remember the real reason for the season.

The girls are so excited about Santa coming. Every morning Madison asks me how many more days. We all got on http://www.claus.com/ to check the naughty and nice list tonight. We all had a ton of laughs.

I hope to keep the website updated better now that we got our new computer. Our old one just took forever to do anything and last month it somehow got a Trojan horse that I could not get rid of. I have been using the one at work in my spare time, but in the winter time that is few and far between.

Our Santa Claus Visit

Yesterday Auburn has it's Christmas parade. Keith drove the D.A.R.E. car with the girls in it and Aunt JoJo, Katelyn, and I watched from the sidelines. Katelyn was mesmerized and just waiving to everyone. After the parade, we met up with Keith at home and we all took the girls to see Santa at the mall. Katelyn did not want to see Santa up close. She was just fine at a distance. However, you know we all do it, we got the screaming picture with Santa. After the pictures Allison and Madison got to tell Santa what they wanted. They had a very long list. Here are some of the pictures for you to enjoy. I just hate the Ansley was not with us. We could have given Santa a run for his money.

Happy Thanksgiving

Just wanted to update everyone on the wonderful camping trip we had during Thanksgiving. We left Auburn Tuesday afternoon and after a 2 hour drive north we arrived at Cheaha Mountain with Grammie greeting us with a sign for the girls. The landscape was breath taking. We roasted marshmallows, hot dogs, sausage and anything else we could think of. The girls enjoyed the trails. Allison, Keith, and Paw Paw hiked a very steep trail up the mountain on Friday. I believe that Allison led the pack in that hike.

Madison, Grammie and I just hung out in and about the camper. We always had a warm fire and lots of hot cocoa. The food was great and the company was even better.

We ate Thanksgiving lunch at the restaurant that overlooks the lake below the mountain. The buffet was more than enough and none of us had to do dishes. We all took a nap that afternoon. :)

We all hated having to leave Saturday morning to come back to the crowd in Auburn for the Iron Bowl.

Poor Madison

Madison started running a 102.3 fever last night. She has had a cough for about 2 days with no other problems, however when I took her to the doctor this morning she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She has started on antibiotics and will hopeful be well enough to still go to the mountains on Tuesday.

She seems to feel fine when her fever is gone. We are all praying for a fast and full recovery.

I will keep everyone updated.

AEEC TAILGATE DAY

Today Madison had Tailgate Day to celebrate the upcoming Auburn vs. Alabama Game. Aubie, the cheerleaders, and the football players all came to the pep rally. After the pep rally, Madison class got to tailgate under their tent and eat their lunches. It was a sunny and very breezy day, but they had a blast. This has been a very eventful weekend. Allison, Madison, and I went to the Auburn High School football game. The weather was great and the football was even better. We meet on of Allison's friends from school. Tyler came with his parents and his little brother Tiger. We had a great time. Tyler invited Allison to go and tailgate with him and his family for the Auburn University game on Saturday. The girls and I had already planned on going to the Tiger Walk and do some tailgating. We decided that we would meet them at the Tiger Walk.

The girls had a blast at the Tiger Walk and tailgating. We got tatoos, played football, jumped in the blow ups and just visited with other fans. Allison was invited to go to the game with Tyler and his family. Madison and I we just going to have some fun of our own when Pop offered us his two tickets.

Madison and I sat in the stands for a little bit, however it was just to hot! We decided to walk underneath to cool off some when Keith called and invited us up in the President's Suite with him. We had all the perks too! Madison ate hot dogs, chips, cheese straws, shrimp, ice cream and lots more. She got to have her picture made with Dr. Gouge and he even gave her an Aubie lapel pin. You would think that he gave her a kidney or something the way that she protects it. They even brought in Noah, the eagle, for her to see. She got to have her picture with him too!

As everyone already knows Auburn won, the girls and I had a great time, and we get to sleep a hour later tomorrow.

The girls had alot of fun last night. We went to some of our neighbors houses and then we went to Parkway Baptist Church to their fall festival. They had games and blow ups. The girls got more that enough candy and had a great time too.

After the festival we went by to see our old neighbors that moved. Catey and Taylor have a new sister named Annie James. The girls enjoyed seeing them.

What a Great Day!

To day is a glorious day. Allison decided to give her life to Christ and was baptized this morning. Keith and I also decided to get baptized again to rededicate our lives to Christ.

Tonight we will be going to Trunk or Treat at our church. Keith and I are doing the needle in the haystack, go fish, and hunting for hidden treasure. Keith will also appear in the dunking booth. The girls are excited. They are both dressed up like pirates. After Trunk or Treat we will be going to Grammie and Paw Paw's property in Beaurguard to have a marshmallow and wheenie roast to see their new RV with Wesley, Wendy, Ansley, Joel, Jimmy and Katelyn.

This sure has been a big weekend. We are so lucky to have a blessed family!

Keith's Birthday & Report Cards

The time had come for report cards. Madison was up at 6:10 AM Thursday morning ready to go to school to get her first one. Allison was a little nervous about the behavior marks as were Keith and I.

I guess that God has blessed us once again! Madison had a great report card. Several E's, a M and a D. They do not give A, B, & C in Kindergarten. The E is for excellent, the M for Mastered, and a D for developing. Allison wowed us all! She got all A's except for a B in Reading. Her behavior grades were awesome too! She got all 3's and one 2 for listening. I guess that she gets that from her Grammie and I. We talk so much we don't always have time to listen. We are so proud of both of them.

Keith's birthday was Tuesday. We had a great day. The girls showered him with cards before he could even get out of bed. He loved his new bible we gave him. He wanted a Message bible, however I did not think he would like it alone. I took the liberty of getting him a parrellel bible with NIV on one half of the page and Message on the other half. I also got me one. I love it!
Our phone rang off the hook with birthday wishes and we went to his dad's house to eat some great steaks.

The girls and I went to the Auburn High School game last night. The played great. Smith Station was not a good as I thought they would be. The girls watch the cheerleaders and "Samford" the tiger and I got to watch the game. Keith has to stand on the visitor's side but he still calls us on the cell phone when he gets cracked up over the girls dancing and doing cheers. We have a family reunion on Sunday after church. The Smith side. Can't wait for the food.

Well I better get to house work! We still have our church group here on Sunday nights. Love to all!

That was a close one. I thought Keith was going to have a heart attack before it was over. The girls loved it. Madison ran and got some toilet paper and was ready to go. Keith said it was to late since we do have church in the morning. The girls did watch some of the game between doing each others hair.

On the way to school today Madison shared some of her innocent wisdom with me and I had to share it with you all. As we turn in the the drop off circle at her school the sun was starring us both in the eyes. I hear from the back seat of the car, "Mom, you know that is the son of God don't you?"

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes, He come up everyday to check on us." she says.

I just smiled and thanked God for all that He has given us.

Toomer's Corner

Hello everyone! Just wanted to try this out. I have never been a blogger and thought I might try this out. Seems like an easy way to keep everyone informed on the girls.

The girls and I went to Toomer's Corner after the game on Saturday and they had a blast. Of course we had to go to Toomer's Drugs to buy some lemonade for Madison. Her class is studying Auburn and they learned about the lemonade at Toomer's Drugs. Most people go to Toomer's to roll the tree, however I think Allison went to roll her sister. Madison looked like a ghost. Everyone was cracking up. Keith met us up there when he got off work and we had a little family fun. Both of the girls are doing great in school and loving it.
